| My Formula 5000 |
Tony started racing karts in 1962 and honed his skills in them until
'68. In 1970 he raced Formula Ford Merliyn & Elden and was the
National Champion in 1971. 1972 he moved up to Formula 3 Brabham
& GRD. 1974 brought Tony to Formula Atlantic March & Modus.
Tony will be splitting his driving duties between Formula 1 and Formula
5000 in '75. In Formula 1 he started his first drive with the Williams
team and the remaining races will be with Graham Hill's team. In the
F5000 series, he's piloting Theodore Racing’s Lola T332. Posting a
very impressive 12th at Long Beach, 4th at Laguna Seca and 6th at
Riverside. Sadly Riverside will be Tony’s last race, 4 weeks later all will
be killed in a plane crash in England, including Tony and 4 other team
members with Graham Hill at the controls.
