Lou Pavesi, a captain with Hughes Air West, will be piloting an P-51
Mustang in the National Air Races this year as well as his
McLaren/Chevrolet in the L&M Championship. He lettered in football
and track at Galileo High School in San Francisco and majored in
aeronautical engineering and astronomy at San Francisco State.
Pavesi started racing at Vaca Valley, Calif. In 1966 and was the San
Francisco Regional Formula C champion in 1968 and 1969. In 1970,
he did some Canadian-American Challenge Cup races with a
Lola/Chevolet and some Continental Championship races in a
McLaren M10A/Chevrolet.
