Howie Fairbanks is stepping from his Formula C Brabham to compete
in the 1972 L & M Continental in a M10 McLaren. He raced the
Brabham to the Central Division’s F/C championship in 1970 and 1971
and placed second at the SCCA’s American Road Race of Champions
the same years. Fairbanks, employed in the advertising business,
began competing in 1956 in an MG-TD. In 1964, he won the H
production regional championship in a Sprite and in 1967 switched to a
C sports/racing Elva which he campaigned successfully through 1969
in SCCA National races. The Red Barn McLaren will be maintained by
Dick Kantrud and Jim Blomquist.
