My Formula 5000
Davey Jordan is a sheet metal worker and has been racing for 11
years with considerable success in a variety of cars but emphasizing
Porsches. A Dolphin Porsche and a 91IS carried him to many victories
between 1964 and 1968, including the Southern Pacific class C
production championship in 1967. He was second to national
champion Alan Johnson in the 1967 ARRC. In 1968 Jordan switched to
the new Toyota 2000, still in C production, and took victories at Mid-
Ohio and Penwell, Texas, national races on his way to the final fourth
in the tough divisional class competition. He began 1969 propitiously
with a fine seventh overall and fourth in class driving with Scooter
Patrick in the Daytona 24 hour behind the wheel of a Lola entered by
Jim Garner’s American International Racing Team. His 1969 SCCA
Continental Championship plans were washed out but in 1970 Jordan
will be seen behind the wheel of an Eagle-Chevrolet entered by
American International Racing.
